Zach Rupp

I trained with Mike for two years, and was a big part of my athletic sucess. Mike gave me the physical tools I needed to accelerate as an athlete and sign a Division 1 NCAA scholarship with New Mexico. I graduated with a degree in Exercise Science, and went on to play three years professionally in the AFL with the Arizona Rattlers; my schooling and professional career reinforced what Mike taught and trained me on.

My name is Antonio and I am 17 years old, and I trained with Mike Lloyd for ten months in Grayslake, IL.

I started training with Mike because he was able to help me get better in sports. He has many talents. He worked with me to get better in sports, specifically football. Then he trained me in Olympic weightlifting. Before I worked with Mike, I didn't know how to train or what I was doing. He taught me how to train the right way, how to be safe, and he pushed me a lot to reach my goals. He never gave up on me, and helped me with my attitude toward school. He spent a lot of time talking with me about choosing the right path to go in life and encouraged me in everything I did. He helped me get a job and always looked out for me.

Mike is more than just a trainer to me, he is my mentor and my good friend.

Sincerely,

Antonio

My name is Carl and Mike Lloyd has been my personal trainer for the past nine months. When I started with him I was very out-of-shape. I failed every single physical fitness test he gave me. At the time I was only 19 and smoking a pack a day. Aside from whipping me into shape so that I can now pass almost all physical fitness tests with an above average score, Mike unknowingly inspired me to quit smoking. I look and feel astronomically better about myself after all I've been through with him.

In my opinion his talent for training is in part due to his no-nonsense attitude and his tendency to drive a person to find their own limits and to break past them, no matter how well they are doing or how far they have come. This is backed up by his extensive knowledge of human anatomy. Mike is a cut above the rest, and as long as I receive personal training he will always be my first choice.

I am writing to tell you about the phenomenal training experience I have had this past year with Mike Lloyd. When I walked into the gym last year at this time, I was in terrible shape. I was 51 years old, overweight, had high blood pressure, and was scared to death about my health because I have two children. I had never worked out before, and had never participated in sports in school; I was the quintessential non-athlete.

It was one of the most fortunate days of my life when I started training with Mike. He was very tough but, at the same time, one of the most caring individuals I have ever met. He worked hard to change my mind about my potential for success. He educated me about getting and staying healthy, and he challenged me to work my butt off. I have not been the easiest client to work with, I am sure. Early on I told Mike not to "coddle" me, but during many of our time together, I whined and complained because it was so hard for me to change my lifestyle. He never gave up on me, never stopped smiling, never stopped setting the bar a little higher each time, never stopped convincing me that I could do more than I thought possible. My experience was so rewarding that I enrolled both sons in training with Mike, and was delighted when my friend and her husband trained with him as well.

I met all my initial goals: dropped the excess weight, lowered the blood pressure, and increased my overall sense of well-being. I was so impressed by Mike's dedication and philosophy of training that I began exploring the possibility of leaving a long career in academia to return to school to become a fitness trainer. Mike continued to help, to educate and to encourage me. As I get close to finishing my training with him, I am proud to say that I am a novice Olympic weightlifter; passed the Harvard Step Test with flying colors, and can backsquat 135 pounds, and when he asks me to give him 100 squats in a row, it's fun to comply! I feel like he saved my life. My sons and my friends are equally thrilled with the results of working with Mike, and my husband has just made the decision to start training with him as soon as he recovers from hip replacement surgery.

In short, I felt it was important to let you know what a huge difference Mike has made.

Sincerely,

Linda P

If you ever have read any of the gossip magazines, there are always stories about some Hollywood star whom has miraculously lost her pregnancy weight in a matter of a few months after the birth of her child. To the ordinary person, it seems impossible without a full time nanny, a personal chef and a strict diet plan. However, I am living proof that it is possible..

When I was pregnant with my second child I gained about 50 pounds (actually I stopped looking at the scales in the OB/GYN office when my weight went over 200 pounds!). Although I easily lost about 20 pounds after the baby was born, but I knew that I needed some help to loose the remainder of the pregnancy weight and get back to my pre-pregnancy shape. Eventually I mustered the courage to seek the help of a personal trainer.... Mike Lloyd.

After assessing my goals and my current status the trainer prepared a customized program that addressed my fitness needs and was flexible enough to cope with my work and baby schedules, without strict dieting. Mike provided me the support and encouragement that I needed to achieve my weight lost goals. Before my baby was five months old I had lost all the pregnancy weight. Now at 7 months after the baby was born, I have lost an additional 15 pounds and am fitter and in better shape than I was 10 years ago. I realize now that I am on a pathway to achieving fitness goals and that I would never have dreamed of before asking for help from a personal trainer.

Thank you Mike, I wouldn't have been able to achieve this without you.
